This class is an introduction to the use of air-purifying respirators, and a review of OHSA’s Respiratory Protection Standard. Compliance with OSHA’s Respiratory Protection Standard is a requirement for employers whose employees may be exposed to airborne contaminants in the workplace, and this class outlines those requirements to assist employers with the development and maintenance of their program. This class also includes discussion of several types of protective clothing, and demonstrates proper donning and doffing procedures for the disposable suits discussed. Upon class completion, a competent person will need to train and educate employees on the specific hazards, respiratory protection, and PPE needed for specific situations.
